Description The joy of taking care of small children is coupled with a good dose of responsibility, safety, and knowledge. Armed with solid information and some fun activities, 4-H'ers will become not only a popular sitter but an important resource for their community. Youth will learn how to communicate with parents about everything from expectations to wages. Sitters will learn about developmentally-appropriate play, learning activities, and nutrition. The 4-Her's are encouraged to keep a "Sitting Journal" where they reflect on questions, problems, ideas, activities, and personal feelings encountered during babysitting experiences. This curriculum is aligned to school standards.
